1930s Silk Chiffon Step-In
A stunning and very delicate 1930s step-in, made from the lightest sheer silk chiffon in a creamy beige. Originally intended to be worn as an underwear layer, it can be styled in a really cool and interesting way today. It features skinny straps, a sweetheart bust, and embroidered floral detailing across the chest. The shorts fasten at the crotch with three small buttons.
Condition: A wounded bird. This sweet step-in is probably best worn lightly, ideal for editorial, study or display. Please study the photos carefully, as I have tried to capture the issues as clearly as possible.
- The majority of the silk chiffon is in good condition, but there are areas of fragility (photo 7)
- Small mend to the waist on the right hand side (photo 8), as well as mends to the crotch (photos 9, 10 + 11)
- Two small and faint stains. I have tried to soak these out, but as it is so delicate, I didn't want to risk damaging the fabric. (Photos 12 + 13)
