1910s Cotton Corset Cover with Pale Pink Ribbon
1910s Cotton Corset Cover with Pale Pink Ribbon
An Edwardian corset cover by Horrockses, complete with its original label. Known today for their iconic mid-century dresses, Horrockses began as a British cotton manufacturer in 1791, & this piece reflects that heritage in its fine workmanship. Made from soft cotton, it has a button-down front, a peplum-style waist, and floral embroidery at the chest and neckline. The neckline has been finished with a modern ribbon.
Condition: Fair but fully wearable. Structurally sound with visible cosmetic flaws: rust marks at the left bust and lower right hem (the latter with a small tear), a pin-sized rust mark near the second button and under the left arm, wear to the second original button, an ink stain on the back left shoulder, and a few additional pinhole-sized marks. Please review photos carefully.
