A lovely fine cotton underdress chemise, dating from sometime between the 1910s and the early 1920s. Designed to be worn as a base layer beneath daywear, this piece is crafted from exceptionally lightweight, soft cotton.
It is cut in a classic loose, boxy silhouette, featuring delicate ribbon straps and an embroidered motif at the bust and hem. Perfect as a summer beach dress or worn as originally intended as an undergarment.
Condition: Very good. Presents and wears very well with some small flaws.
Some light wear to the cotton in places, thinning. Will need to be washed and worn with care.
Quite a few scattered (very well done) mends. Mostly around the neckline and straps.
Some very faint staining to the bottom of the skirt that has not completely faded with treatment.
