A really wonderful blouse from the iconic 1970s boutique and brand Mexicana. Founded by couturier John Cavanagh and illustrator Alfredo Bouret—who had worked with Chanel and Dior—Mexicana became known for its opulent, bohemian designs inspired by Bouret’s Mexican heritage.
This blouse is a perfect example of their dramatic aesthetic, with extravagant ruffles and long sleeves finishing in feature cuffs. Cut from crisp white cotton, it’s detailed with intricate pin-tucking and pleats throughout. It fastens with a line of hidden buttons at the front, mirrored by matching buttons at the cuffs.
Condition: Excellent.
