1930s Silk Bias Nightdress Slip with Tie
1930s Silk Bias Nightdress Slip with Tie
One of my favourite finds of the year. This very special 1930s silk slip appears to be handmade or commissioned from a seamstress, evident in the delicate hand stitching and fine hand painted details. Cut from a slinky, semi sheer cream silk with soft yellow undertones, it has an unusual tie front bust and gentle ruching at the tops of the sleeves. Delicately hand painted floral motifs decorate the bust and neck ties. No labels. A rare and beautifully made piece.
Condition: Very good. Presents and wears very well. The silk shows some areas of fragility when held up to the light, as shown in the photos, so care should be taken when washing.
