1940s Floral Housecoat
A gorgeous original 1940s housecoat made from rayon with a hand-painted style floral design. It features a double lapel collar, lightly puffed sleeves, and a wrap-over front. The coat secures with an internal tie and a popper at the front, and comes with a newly added satin ribbon belt. The colours are soft and fresh, with pale pinks, blues, and coral set against a very pale green, almost cream base. No labels.
Condition: Very good. Presents and wears well.
- The fabric shows some areas of fragility when held to the light, so care is recommended when washing.
- The front popper does not appear to be original and was likely added by a previous owner, as it is attached directly to the fabric rather than at a seam.
- There is a small hand-done mend at the right underarm.
