1940s Floral Housecoat
1940s Floral Housecoat
A gorgeous 1940s housecoat, cut from what feels like rayon with a hand-painted style floral design. It features a double lapel collar, lightly puffed sleeves, and a classic wrap-over front. It secures with an internal tie and a popper at the front, and I have added a new satin ribbon belt. The colours are soft and fresh, with pale pinks, blues, and coral set against a very, very pale green, almost cream coloured base. No labels.
Condition: Very good. Presents and wears very well. The fabric does show some areas of fragility when held up to the light, which I have shown in the photos, so care should be taken when washing. The front popper does not appear to be original and was likely added by a previous owner, as it is attached directly to the fabric rather than at a seam. There is a small hand-done mend at the right underarm.
