1930s bias-cut evening dress in black satin, with a scoop neckline and fluid, body-skimming skirt. The bodice and back feature crisscrossing embroidery with hand-sewn beading, bow motifs at bust and back, and scattered original gelatin sequins. A wide attached sash belt cinches the waist; the dress can also be worn back to front. As found.
Condition: Fair/sold as found.
Blemishes throughout the satin.
Some small areas of moth damage, including minor weakening.
Some beading missing, with fraying to the embroidery in places.
Most gelatin sequins lost to time, leaving residue, particularly on the skirt.
General wear consistent with nearly a century of age.
