A traditional Victorian cotton nightdress, perfect worn as either a day dress or as nightwear. This piece has a loose, smock-like shape with fine pintucking at the bust and a wide collar trimmed with crochet lace. It features a classic bib-style button-down front, fastening with two original cloth-covered buttons. Crafted from medium-weight white cotton, it also has the owner’s original initials stitched neatly into the inside of the collar.
Condition: Very good. There are scattered moth holes (about a pinhead sized) throughout the entire piece, which I've shown in photos 9-16. Some light yellowing to the back of the neck and inside of the collar. In addition, there are small mends under each armpit. I've shown this on my mannequin with the top button undone as it is very, very tight. Better to wear left open.
