1930s Buttery Gold Silk Slip Nightdress

A lovely 1930s slip in the most beautiful blend of butter yellow and gold—capturing the colour accurately in photos has been tricky! Made from silk, it features a sweetheart neckline, a midi length, a rolled hem, and skinny adjustable straps with little clasps. The shape is loose and triangular, with a high bust and an open back slit. The bust is adorned with delicate swirling floral embroidery, adding a soft, romantic touch.

Condition: Good. This piece has been worn, loved, and mended over time. There is general wear throughout, including some dimpling to the fabric (photos 5 & 6). Repairs have been made to the straps, the left side seam, and the seam under the right bust (photos 6 & 7). There is also a small, faint area of staining near the edge of the right hip, which has not lifted with treatment. This is shown in two types of light in photo 10.
