1920s Black Velvet Opera Coat with Tie Neck
This opulent opera coat embodies all the lavishness of the late 1920s era! It presents a sleek silhouette, accentuated by a drop waist button closure, a defining characteristic of the period's fashion trends. The three-quarter-length sleeves are elegantly styled with a balloon shape and delicate ruching, while the neckline features a tie detail that was originally adorned with luxurious fur trim. Sadly, only sparse tufts of fur remain along each edge, serving as a poignant reminder of its former glory. Lined in white silk.
Condition: The inside lining has a fair amount of discolouration and staining. Whilst this is not seen when worn, it is something to note. The outer velvet is in good condition with some general signs of wear as expected. There are also some mends to the inside lining armpits and hem.
