A sweet original nightdress dating from the 1910s, made from fine white cotton. It has a loose A-line silhouette with a scooped neckline and button-close straps. The bust features a very pretty openwork design, with additional scalloped detailing at the sleeves and neckline. Extremely lightweight and easy to wear, this piece works beautifully as nightwear or as a warm weather dress.
Condition: Very good. Presents very well.
- There is some wear to the cotton, along with a few scattered pinhead-sized marks that have not fully lifted with treatment.
- There is a small mend at the back of the neck.
- The sleeves have been repaired by a previous owner using modern patching and hand sewing. I have not removed these as they still feel sturdy, but they could be redone if a more aesthetic finish is preferred.
