An original early 1980s knitted two-piece set by renowned British knitwear designer Mary Farrin in a pretty combination of periwinkle blue and butter yellow. Based on her other designs from this period, this is most likely a blend of high-quality wool, viscose, and lurex.

The set consists of a draped midi skirt with an elasticated waist and a loose blouse with flared sleeves, a scoop neckline, and a softly draped hem. The blouse has a relaxed, slouchy fit and can also be worn off the shoulder. Lightweight and unlined, it's an ideal set for warmer weather. How perfect would this look on a beach, thrown over a bikini and paired with a pair of espadrilles...

• A very small mark to the skirt. I have treated it gently without success. It may respond to stronger stain removal, but I have chosen not to use harsher treatments to avoid damaging the knit fibres.
