I just love a bed jacket! They look brilliant paired with a white tee and jeans or thrown over a slinky dress — they’re so versatile. This sweet Edwardian bed jacket features beautifully sewn scalloped edges and a tie front. It has an open design that fastens with a (modern replacement) apricot satin ribbon and short scalloped sleeves. The body is detailed with openwork geometric motifs on each side of the bust.
Condition: Very good. There is an alteration at the back of the neck to make it smaller (as shown in the photo 11). I haven’t unpicked this, as it functions well, but it could easily be undone if preferred. There are a few small mends under the arms, a tear to one of the ribbon holes (photo 6), and some wear to the cotton at the back, including minor holes and areas of fragility (photos 12 & 13).
