A gorgeous pair of red wedge slipper-style shoes from Bata, an international brand known for its strong European production throughout the mid-20th century. Made in Italy, these are crafted from 100% leather and feature a perforated vamp — a style that became particularly popular in post-war women’s footwear. Lightweight and easy to wear, they work perfectly as house slippers or summer shoes.
Condition: Good. These appear to have been very lightly worn, if at all — likely just indoors, judging by the soles. The leather shows some general wear from age and storage, and a few scuffs where the red colour has faded. The leather insoles show more noticeable wear, but the shoes remain comfortable and wearable.
Measurements (in inches):
These are marked as a 5 and they do still fit me as a true 5. However, they are narrow on the toe and a little tight on me. Best a small 5.
- Heel height: just under 1"
