1910s Cotton Petticoat Underskirt with Broderie Anglaise
I can never resist an Edwardian petticoat! This beautiful piece is made from starched, lightweight cotton and showcases a striking, heavily embroidered hem with intricate floral details. The embroidery forms a stunning 10-inch border of broderie anglaise at the bottom, complemented by four horizontal pin tucks further up the skirt.
Evidence of the original darts at the waist can still be seen, with some still intact, along with a discreet patch. At one point, there was a deep horizontal pleat just above the embroidery, and its stitch marks remain faintly visible. The skirt is unlined and features a newly added elasticated waistband, allowing it to fit a range of sizes comfortably.
Condition: Very good. There is a well done patch, and a scattering of tiny rust stains (maybe 3 overall).
Shown pinned to fit on an approx UK size 6 mannequin (B:34"/W:25"/H:34”)
- Waist: stretches from 26" to 35"

XS | Waist 22"- 25"
S | Waist 26"- 27"
M | Waist 28"- 30"
L | Waist 31"- 32"

Please do not take the size guide as gospel as the size stated here may not be the size you would normally buy. It is very important to know your bust, waist and hip sizing ahead of purchase.
