1940s Smocked Midi Dress
A darling 1940s pink dress, likely originally intended as nightwear. Made from lightweight fabric (possibly rayon) in a soft pink shade, it features smocking across the shoulders and waist with gentle gathers through the bodice and skirt. The dress has short sleeves, a straight neckline, and a button-up back. The silhouette is long, slightly flared, and easy to wear.
Condition: Very good. Some small flaws.
- The fabric shows light general wear consistent with age.
- There is a tiny pinhead-sized hole in the bodice and a small mark within one of the skirt pleats that appears to be biro or pen ink.
- Two small stains remain at the back hem that have not lifted with treatment.
- One button is missing from the back, where there is also a small tear.
