This is a 1930s dressing gown or house coat, cut from thick blue silk. It has a deep plunging front, flared sleeves, and an unbelievable full skirt with a train that pools at your feet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"228\" data-end=\"437\"\u003eDelicate beige lacework frames the neckline and is echoed in soft, fluttering cuffs. This piece would originally have had a button or tie closure, but a previous owner has adapted it with a popper fastening. It could be worn with nothing underneath if you are feeling daring, or styled as a truly show stopping layer. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition: \u003c\/strong\u003eVery good for its age. It presents and wears very well, \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003ehowever please note that there is staining throughout the piece,\u003c\/span\u003e and therefore it does have aesthetic flaws. These have been gently treated and have faded slightly. I have avoided further treatment to prevent potential damage to the fibres. The marks are aesthetic rather than structural and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. I have backed this with some repair taping.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e(photo 13 - 14) A small area of fragility at the centre seam of the back.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e(photo 15 - 17) Some staining to the left sleeve, and some to the front left hand side of the skirt (photo 18) These have been gently treated and have faded slightly. I have avoided further treatment to prevent potential damage to the fibres.
